oncoBRCA

The oncaBRCA database contains information about variant frequencies in genes of homologous recombination repair (HRR) system.  The current database is a part of the project “Hereditary Syndromes in the Russian Federation”, which invistigates such genes as P53, PTEN, CDH1, STK11, MLH1, MSH2, MSH6, PMS2, PALB2, CHEK2, ATM, RAD51C, RAD51D, BRIP1, BRCA1 and BRCA2. 

We analyzed more than 2,000 samples from 35 regions of the Russian Federation using NGS (next-generation sequencing), and selected cases that meet strict clinical criteria for hereditary cancers according to 17 oncological syndromes.

The aim of the project is to advance the knowledge about genetic backgound of breast cancer, ovarian cancer, prostate cancer, and pancreatic cancer by combining information on HRR variants and relevant clinical data from all over Russia, as well as to interpret variants encountered in Russian populations studies.
